Application: The molecular structure of sodium 3-chloro-2-hydroxypropane sulfonate contains both a highly active halogen atom and a hydroxyl group, as well as a hydrophilic sulfonate group. It can be used as an organic chemical intermediate, used to prepare surfactants, modified starches, drilling fluids and fluid loss materials. Alkylation reaction of sodium 3-chloro-2-hydroxy-propane sulfonate with imidazoline and amine was carried out to prepare amphoteric surfactant with temperature resistance, salt resistance and calcium resistance.The excellent drilling fluid materials for reducing water loss were prepared by etherification reaction with starch.The industrial synthesis of sodium 3-chloro-2-hydroxy-propane sulfonate is of great practical significance in the fields of functional surfactants, petroleum exploitation, bio-pharmaceuticals, metallurgy and papermaking.
