Vločkovací činidlo PAM je nerozpustné ve většině organických rozpouštědel, má dobrou flokulaci a může snížit třecí odpor mezi kapalinami. Neiontový polyakrylamid je vhodný pro separaci směsné organické a anorganické suspenze, kde je roztok neutrální nebo kyselý. Kationtový polyakrylamid je vhodný pro suspenzní roztoky obsahující organickou látku a má záporný náboj. Aniontový polyakrylamid je vhodný pro vyšší hustotu, anorganickou suspenzní látku s kladným nábojem a je neutrální nebo zásaditý, se silnými částicemi suspenze 1mm-10mm.
Polyakrylamid přichází v různých formách, jako jsou granulované, tekuté olejové emulze, tablety a blokové formy. Suché polyakrylamidy se snadněji skladují, přepravují a dávkují do příkopů a mají také delší trvanlivost než tekuté formy. Kapalné formy však vyžadují menší míchání, aby se rozpustily.
Manufacturing Process：
Polyakrylamidy se syntetizují polymerací akrylamidu (C3H5NE). Akrylamid se obvykle rozpouští ve vodě a rozpuštěné monomery (jednojednotkové molekuly) se přimějí k polymeraci (spojí se a vytvoří velké, vícejednotkové molekuly) působením iniciátorů volných radikálů.
