PAM flokulant ei lahustu enamikus orgaanilistes lahustites, sellel on hea flokulatsioon ja see võib vähendada vedelike vahelist hõõrdumist. Ioonsete omaduste järgi võib selle jagada nelja tüüpi: mitteioonsed, anioonsed, katioonsed ja amfoteersed. Mitteioonne polüakrüülamiid sobib segatud orgaanilise ja anorgaanilise suspensiooni eraldamiseks, kui lahus on neutraalne või happeline. Katioonne polüakrüülamiid sobib orgaanilist ainet sisaldavate suspensioonilahuste jaoks ja on negatiivse laenguga. Anioonne polüakrüülamiid sobib suurema tihedusega, positiivse laenguga anorgaanilise suspensiooni aine jaoks ja on neutraalne või aluseline, paksuste suspensiooniosakestega 1mm-10mm.
Polüakrüülamiid on saadaval erinevates vormides, nagu graanulid, vedelad õliemulsioonid, tabletid ja plokid. Kuiva polüakrüülamiidi on lihtsam ladustada, transportida ja peakraavidesse doseerida ning neil on ka pikem säilivusaeg kui vedelal kujul. Vedelad vormid vajavad lahustumiseks aga vähem segamist.
Manufacturing Process：
Polüakrüülamiide sünteesitakse akrüülamiidi polümerisatsiooni teel (C3H5EI). Akrüülamiid lahustatakse tavaliselt vees ja lahustunud monomeerid (üheühikulised molekulid) indutseeritakse vabade radikaalide initsiaatorite toimel polümeriseerumisele (ühendatakse omavahel suurte, mitmeühikuliste molekulide moodustamiseks).
